The retroversion is the countermovement to the anteversion. The arm / leg is moved backwards. In anteversion and retroversion, the limbs must be understood like a pendulum.
The word retroversion comes from the Latin and means: retro (back), vertere (turn / turn)
In our example there is a retroversion of the extended arm in the shoulder joint.
This leads to a contraction of the posterior deltoid muscle.
