The right care of the skin


The skin is the largest excretory organ in humans, and for this reason, the skin often reflects what is going on in the body.

Sleep deprivation, unhealthy diets (lots of fat, meat, sugar, caffeine), little exercise and a little fresh air have a negative impact on our body functions and thus also show up on our skin. The skin becomes pale, gray, wrinkled, flabby, slightly reddened, irregular, dry or greasy, impure, large-pored. In addition, more dark circles occur because the skin under the eyes is particularly thin and thus the less oxygenated (oxygenated blood) visibly shimmers through bluish.

Basics of skin care

For these reasons, the first step in good skin care is to provide the following ideal conditions:

  • at least 7 hours of sleep per night, preferably the same bedtime (so that the body can adjust to it)
  • Drink 2 - 3 liters of water or unsweetened herbal tea per day
  • if possible 3 times a week at least 30 minutes of sport (preferably in the fresh air)
  • balanced diet with plenty of vegetables and fruits, low sugar, meat, dairy and cereal products.

Once these basics have been met, more attention can be paid to skincare in order to perfect the care of the skin.

Determine the skin type

Mature skin

Dry skin

The dry skin also tightens, itches, may be red and shows small scales. Again, as a care, high quality oils, and moisture are indicated.

Sensitive / sensitive skin

The sensitive skin reacts to fragrances and the like sensitive, is quickly reddened, often shows red spots, itching and generally restless. The sensitive skin must be carefully supplied with sufficient moisture.

Normal skin

Hardly any woman describes her skin as "normal", so she is used as an independent name by fewer and fewer cosmetics companies. The normal skin does not stretch, shows hardly any impurities, is fine-pored, shows no superfluous shine and only the age appropriate wrinkles. It corresponds to the "wish skin". As a care little is necessary because the balanced skin should not be unnecessarily unbalanced. Light cream is ideal.

Combination skin

The combination skin has something of many skin types: it tenses on the cheeks or is sensitive. The skin of the cheeks is dry and needs moisture. By contrast, the skin in the so-called "T-zone" (forehead, nose, chin = T-shape) is greasy, impure and with enlarged pores, which often form blackheads.
It is the most widespread skin type between 15 and 30 years old. In the combination skin should be a moisturizer T-zone and a light grease treatment of the dry cheeks, but in some cases can be replaced by the moisturizer, which is then applied throughout the face.

Oily skin

The greasy skin type shines after the test described above after a short time in the entire face, as an increased serum production by the sebaceous glands of the face is typical. This overproduction usually causes the enlarged pores of the skin to become blocked, leading to comedones (blackheads), which can develop into pimples and dermatitis, which are then spread over the entire face.

However, the greasy skin type may also develop from over-aggressive skin cleansing with highly degreasing cleansers and alcohol toners when the body tries in vain to compensate for this permanent defatting of the skin. Often a change of skin care and nocturnal gentle oiling of the skin with pure vegetable oils (for example almond, grape seed, jojoba or argan oil) can lead to considerable improvement.
For greasy skin, the previous care routine must therefore be carefully considered. To change the nightly oiling is then possible, while during the day moisturizing gels / serums will be applied without rich nourishing substances.

Systematic skin care on the face

The care of the skin on the face also includes the individual supply of moisture and fats.

The systematic skin care consists of regular cleaning and care. Here, the skin is supplied according to individual needs with moisture and / or high-quality fats (oils).
The cleaning takes place in the morning directly after getting up and in the evening before going to bed with the gentlest possible cleansing milk for the face. As modern cosmetics brands often focus on promising packaging and brand names, it is important to carefully examine the ingredients for each individual product. In most cases, the choice of natural cosmetics for the skin is much more advantageous, since the substances contained here most closely resemble the natural components of the skin and do not irritate them unnecessarily.

Creams should not contain any artificial fats and no silicones, as these have a very regulating effect on the complexion, but they have no nourishing effect and thus only cover the skin. Thus, it is insensitive to nourishing substances, it comes to dryness or pimples through the artificially clogged pores. Natural oils (for example almond, grape seed, jojoba or argan oil) or fats (for example shea butter) sustain the cells of the facial skin sustainably and provide suppleness, so that the skin can withstand the daily effects of dust, smog, sunlight, etc. can withstand better without drying out and getting unnecessary wrinkles.

The metabolism through the skin is then better possible, so that the detoxification of the body can take place sufficiently. There is an opinion that the blocked excretion via the skin can lead to internal complaints, such as in extreme gastrointestinal cancer. For this reason, the metabolism as a whole should be kept in mind and also the skin should not be "pasted" with artificial substances in order to ensure a sufficient circulation of metabolic products.

As tonic, contrary to the commercially available alcoholic products often natural remedies such as rose water (available in pharmacies) or self-cooked black tea (10 minutes, in a clean glass jar for about 1 week preserved) preferable.

According to recent findings, Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic Acid provide a good hydration of the skin, so that this mixture is ideal for combination skin or greasy / impure skin, but can also be used as additional care of sensitive / sensitive skin, dry or mature skin, as well as for normal Skin is ideally usable. In the trade, cosmetic products with these ingredients are often "contaminated" by other ingredients and also the price is so far very high, so that the ingredients can also be mixed together. It should be ensured that it is pure, but preserved aloe vera juice, so it comes to a sufficient shelf life of the final product. In hyaluronic acid, a distinction is made between low molecular weight, medium molecular weight and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. According to recent findings, the mixture of low molecular weight and medium molecular weight hyaluronic acid provides the best gel mixture for daily facial care, but can also be individually varied as needed.

Care should always be taken not to over-coat the skin with too many rich creams and cosmetics. Otherwise, it may happen that the cells of the skin cease their proper function of supplying the skin with the necessary fats. This usually manifests itself in a rash around the mouth, called perioral dermatitis.

Skin care of the body

As the largest excretory organ in humans, the appearance of the skin depends on the numerous processes within the body.

Body care differs greatly from the care of the facial skin, as the skin on the body is much thicker than the delicate facial skin and therefore less subject to fluctuations. The body skin is not so up-to-date as the state of total body metabolism and there is no distinction between the most diverse skin types.
For this reason, the skin care of the body skin is less important than the care of the facial skin.

Cleaning the body skin:
It is important here that the daily arising sweat is washed off regularly, however, the skin's own acid mantle is not destroyed unnecessarily. The typical "smell of sweat" is not caused by the sweat itself, but by the decomposition of the same by bacteria. Accordingly, a daily cleansing of the body zones should take place, in which sweat arises most frequently. These include the armpits, as well as the feet, partly the back, but also the breast and genital region.
The easiest way to make the daily cleaning by the morning shower, while the care on the best possible moisturizing shower gels and aggressive cleaning products should be avoided.
Subsequently, however, if necessary also only in the evening the creaming of the body skin is possible. This is often more pleasant, because in the evening after creaming nothing of the care products comes to the day clothes and this does not "stick to the body".
Care of the body skin:
Which cream the body individually best tolerates must be tried. However, it is also important to ensure that the ingredients are as natural as possible, as the body skin also participates in a large part of the bodily metabolism and should not be "covered in" for this purpose. Silicones and artificial fats are also to be avoided here. Natural cosmetics or occasional baby care products meet these criteria for skin care most reliable.

Hand and foot care

The modern society also needs a careful care of hands and feet, which have special requirements due to the daily immense stress.
In addition, a manicure and pedicure is possible, which can be carried out in the simplest form at home.

The skin and the nails of hands and feet are strained by daily work and running, frequent hand washing and wearing tight shoes. The care of these areas must therefore be mainly moisturizing, so that the thicker skin of hands and feet can defy their daily needs.

The easiest way to care by the careful creaming after washing, as well as before going to bed, so that the effect of the creams can develop sufficiently and regeneration of the strained areas is guaranteed. Since hands and feet are primarily stressed areas, silicones and artificial fats are less harmful and can provide some pleasant greasing. If there is a particularly heavy hornification of the feet, then a regular foot bath (possibly with the addition of fresh lemon slices) and subsequent careful filing of the dissolved cornea should be done so that the care substances of the creams can work well again.
