introduction

Many people suffer from dry lips, which not only do not look beautiful, but in some cases can also be really painful. To counteract dehydration, many people fall back on the promising lip balm sticks, which are now available in various designs almost everywhere. Those affected often have to find that although there is a short-term improvement, the lips shortly afterwards dry again and, above all, even faster than before and the care product has to be used more and more often in order to be successful.

Treatment with honey

Honey is a popular home remedy for dry lips.

A good alternative is a very simple but tried and tested home remedy for dry lips, namely honey. In principle, you can use any normal honey that you can buy in the supermarket as food, but thick variants such as rapeseed honey are particularly effective. Honey contains a large number of ingredients that help to nourish the lips. In addition, the honey accelerates the healing of the small cracks that almost always appear in connection with dry lips.

Correct application

For an optimal effect, the honey (relatively thick) is applied to the lips once or twice a day. It is important not to lick the honey, as this moisturizing the lips would promote dehydration again. Instead, it is best to wipe the honey off with a cloth after about 3 minutes. If you want to increase the effect, you can apply the honey before going to bed and leave it on your lips overnight or use it after showering or bathing, as the pores of the skin are then widened and the substances can be absorbed better. If you want, you can also mix the honey with quark, which creates an even more viscous paste. This should be left on the lips a little longer (up to a quarter of an hour) before being washed off again.

After the honey has been removed, the lips are soft and supple again for quite a long time; the more regularly you carry out the "treatment" with honey, the more permanent the result.
