If Sulfur is to be administered as globules, the potency C15 is recommended in most cases: It is used for skin diseases such as boils, acne, eczema and itching due to inflammation of the skin. It is usually taken once a week. To treat colds, increase the frequency of intake up to four times a week. Sulfur can also help with rheumatic diseases; here, three globules are taken once a day. With heart failure and frequently recurring or chronic cystitis, Sulfur 15C is taken once a week. If diarrhea is to be treated, it is also recommended to take three 15C globules per day. Inflammatory bowel diseases also belong in the Sulfur spectrum, even if the treatment here should primarily be carried out in addition to the prescribed medication.
In addition, the potencies C9 and C30 are often used at Sulfur. Precisely because Sulfur has such a large area of application as a homeopathic remedy, a trained homeopath or alternative practitioner should always be consulted for the exact dosage.
Homeopathic remedies can be used according to the so-called drug picture: this means that people who request a certain drug have certain properties. These properties are then treated according to the homeopathic principle of “like with like”, that is, with substances that cause the same properties or symptoms.
A certain remedy picture shows itself in the child: this describes children who appear constantly hungry, downright gulp down their food and enviously watch other people while they are eating. Sulfur is also suitable for small children who “kick themselves free” at night, that is, who constantly kick away the duvet. In addition, Sulfur can also be used in children in its general (large) spectrum of activity. This means that infectious diseases in children can be treated supportively with Sulfur. The typical teething troubles such as chickenpox are worth mentioning here, but otherwise any other illness or infection that is accompanied by a fever.
The basic substance for Sulfur iodatum (synonyms: Sulfur iodatum, Iodum sulfuratum) is sulfur iodide, i.e. a combination of sulfur and iodine. It mainly consists of iodine, i.e. around three quarters of it. Like the homeopathic Sulfur, which does not contain iodine, Sulfur iodatum has a stimulating effect on the metabolism.
The main areas of application for this agent are inflammatory processes and diseases. These include, for example, inflammatory and sometimes purulent skin diseases such as severe and long-lasting acne, pustules, eczema and rash, boils and psoriasis. Inflammations of the throat and pharynx can also be treated with Sulfur iodatum, notable in this area are tonsillitis or simple colds. If the complaints in the throat and pharynx persist for more than a week without improvement, a doctor should be considered, otherwise the infection can affect the remaining airways and the lungs with long-term consequences. In addition, other inflammatory processes in various parts of the body and organs such as inflammation of the joints (arthritis), eyes or ovaries come as areas of application for Sulfur iodatum.
In the case of homeopathic medicinal products, it is always worth mentioning that they are administered on the basis of certain key symptoms and characteristics of a person's appearance. The intake is then often set on a longer-term basis in order to change the corresponding constitution. Sulfur jodatum is suitable, among other things, for adolescents in puberty who are struggling with acne. However, it can generally be helpful in all age groups with corresponding symptoms and diseases. Sulfur iodatum can also affect people with little appetite who do not gain weight even if they eat a lot.
For independent medication, low potencies of D6 to D12 are recommended. It can be taken daily, but should be discontinued if there is still no significant improvement after about a week.
