Patients who already have coronary artery disease should usually always take cholesterol-lowering drugs. Elevated blood lipids are a major risk factor in the development of coronary artery disease. Therefore, regular blood tests should be carried out, which also include blood lipids. Vascular disease

The heart muscle is supplied via the right and left coronary arteries and the circumflex branch, which arises from the left coronary artery. Depending on how many of these three large coronary vessels are closed or narrowed, one speaks of a one-, two- or three-vessel disease.
