Magnesium plays an important role in bone formation, muscle function and metabolism.
However, food supplements like Biolectra are no substitute for a healthy and balanced diet.

Calcigen D vital complex contains calcium, vitamin D3, vitamin B12 and folic acid (vitamin B9) and can be purchased without a prescription. With its active ingredients, it is said to support bone health. Calcium is an important trace element in the body, which plays an important role both in the excitability of the muscles and in bone structure. Among other things, vitamin D3 ensures that calcium in the intestine is absorbed from food into the blood. Calcigen is used on the one hand for a lack of calcium, vitamin D3, vitamin B12 or folic acid, on the other hand to support the treatment of osteoporosis.
The daily dose is 2 times 1 chewable tablet. This should be taken between meals. The preparation must not be used in severe kidney dysfunction.
Possible side effects are: increased blood and urine calcium levels, constipation, rash, itching, nausea, gas, hives, and abdominal pain. If your condition changes negatively while taking Calcigen, a doctor should be consulted.
Calcigen is used to support osteoporosis therapy, but does not replace it.

Calcivit is made up of calcium and vitamin D3.With the exception of vitamin B12 and folic acid, it contains the same active ingredients as Clacigen D vital complex (see above) and can also be bought in pharmacies without a prescription. Both preparations are used in cases of calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency, as well as to support osteoporosis therapy, and are to be taken as chewable tablets twice a day between meals.
Side effects and contraindications are also identical.
The duration of use of both preparations should be determined by a doctor.

Centrum A-Zink is a nutritional supplement with vitamins, minerals and trace elements. It is available from pharmacies without a prescription. Centrum contains vitamins A, D, E, K, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and B12, the trace elements iron, calcium, magnesium, copper and zinc, as well as plant substances such as lutein. It should help to meet the daily needs of these important substances and thus contribute to a balanced and healthy diet. However, it cannot replace this.
The consumption recommendation is one tablet a day and should not be exceeded. Pregnant women in particular should consult a doctor before use, as too much vitamin A can damage the child.
It is particularly important to be careful with over-the-counter multivitamin preparations such as Centrum or Doppelherz, as these do not specifically cover a possible deficiency and this can lead to high vitamin concentrations in the body (hypervitaminosis). Hypervitaminosis can lead to headaches, nausea, vomiting, muscle coordination disorders and skin damage, using the example of vitamin A.

The active ingredient is the iron (II) glycine sulfate complex (225 mg / 1 tablet), which means that one tablet has 40 mg iron (II) ions. Iron is an important trace element which, among other things, is involved in the formation of red blood cells.
Ferro sanol is indicated for iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia (anemia caused by iron deficiency). A doctor must determine whether there is iron deficiency and whether this is the reason for the anemia.
Ferro Sanol is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to ingredients, iron overload (hemochromatosis), anemias with iron metabolism disorders (e.g. thalassemia), hemolytic anemia and in some cases with chronic inflammatory bowel disease, gastric mucosal inflammation and ulcers in the digestive tract.
It must not be used in children under 6 years of age, but it is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Possible side effects include: gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation. The dose at the beginning of treatment is 1-2 tablets to be taken 3 times a day and then 1 tablet to be taken 1-2 times a day. The exact dose and duration of use should be determined by a doctor at the start of therapy.

Floradix is an iron preparation which, unlike Ferro Sanol, does not require a pharmacy, so it can also be bought in a drugstore. The active ingredient is iron (II) D-gluconate x water (105.5 - 116.09), which means that one serving (15 ml) has an iron (II) ion concentration of 12.26 mg.
Like Ferro Sanol, Floradix is used for iron deficiency and therefore has the same contraindications and side effects.
It is in liquid form and 15 ml should be taken 3 times a day.
Particularly with over-the-counter preparations, care must be taken not to take excessive doses. If you have any questions or if side effects occur, you should consult a doctor.

Magnesium Verla is a magnesium supplement. You can buy it in the pharmacy without a prescription. It is used when there is a lack of magnesium in the body, which manifests itself in dizziness, migraines, diarrhea and vomiting or muscle cramps.
Magnesium is an important mineral that e.g. plays a role in bone formation, muscle work and energy metabolism. The active ingredients in Magnesium Verla are magnesium citrate and magnesium bis (hydrogen-L-glutamate).
It is in the form of a tablet and, depending on the degree of magnesium deficiency, 1-3 tablets should be taken 3 times a day. It is recommended to use it for 4 weeks, but it is also safe to use it for years with normal kidney function. Magnesium Verla may not be used in the case of kidney dysfunction with elimination inhibition, lack of fluids and infection stones (calcium-magnesium-ammonium phosphate stones). There are no concerns during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Possible side effects include loose stools or diarrhea, but the daily dose should be reduced. There may be interactions with tetracyclines (antibiotics), iron preparations, and sodium fluoride preparations that affect the way these drugs work. Therefore, the intake should be staggered 3-4 hours.
Neuro Stada is a vitamin B1 (thiamine) and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) preparation. It is available from pharmacies without a prescription.
It is used in the treatment of systemic neurological diseases when there is a proven deficiency in vitamins B1 and B6, e.g. with polyneuropathy. Further examples of possible applications are: shingles or in some cases with cervical spine syndromes.
One tablet should be taken orally one to three times a day. The exact dosage and duration of use should be discussed with a doctor. Possible side effects of the therapy are: palpitations, sweats, hives and itching. Long-term, high-dose use of Neuro Stada can lead to abnormal sensations in the hands and feet (peripheral sensory neuropathies) and even nerve damage.
An interaction occurs when the anti-Parkinsonian drug levodopa is taken at the same time. Vitamin B6 weakens its effect.
Contraindications are hypersensitivity to vitamins B1 or B6. The use of a doctor should be carefully considered during pregnancy and breastfeeding, since high concentrations of vitamin B6 inhibit milk production. In addition, breastfeeding should be stopped before starting therapy because the active ingredients can pass into breast milk.

Orthomol Immun is a nutritional supplement that is supposed to support the immune system and is also used in case of diet-related immune deficiencies. You can buy it at the pharmacy without a prescription. It contains numerous micronutrients such as vitamins A, D, E, K, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12, trace elements such as iron, zinc and copper and secondary plant substances such as lutein. All of these substances are involved in biochemical processes in the body and serve the normal function of the immune system, as well as cell division and development.
One serving of Orthomol Immun consists of 2 tablets and a small drinking bottle with 20 ml content. If possible, these should be taken once a day after or during meals to prevent burping. Orthomol immune is not a substitute for drug therapy, but should only be used as a supplement.
With some pre-existing conditions, e.g. if too much iron is stored in the body, a doctor should be consulted before use to prevent possible complications. Furthermore, pregnant women should consult a doctor before taking it, as too much vitamin A can damage the child.

The recommended daily dose is one sachet to be taken with water during or after meals. Here too, dietary supplements are not a substitute for a healthy, balanced diet or drug therapy. Vigantoletten is a vitamin D3 supplement. It contains 0.025 mg colecalciferol (vitamin D3) or 1000 I.U. per tablet. It can be bought in pharmacies without a prescription. The dosage form is orally in the form of tablets. Vigantolettes are used for vitamin D deficiency or prevention of vitamin D deficiency and also for osteoporosis or its prevention. Other reasons for a vitamin D deficiency are absorption disorders in the intestine or malnutrition.

An overdose leads to an increased calcium concentration in the blood, which can be deposited in the kidneys and blood vessels. Symptoms of an overdose are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (later constipation), muscle and joint pain, fatigue, increased thirst, increased urination and ultimately dehydration.

Vitasprint is a vitamin B12 preparation. It can be purchased from the pharmacy without a prescription. It is sold in the form of small bottles that you drink. The bottles contain 0.5 mg of cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) and 40 mg of phosphoserine in liquid form. On the other hand, the lid contains 60 mg of glutamine in powder form. To take it, the button on the lid is pressed, the powdered glutamine combines with the liquid components and Vitasprint can now be drunk. Glutamine and phosphoserine are amino acids or amino acid derivatives that contribute to the formation of proteins and the function of muscle and nerve cells.
Vitasprint is indicated for a vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is involved in more than 100 biochemical processes in the body and is stored in large quantities in the liver, which means that deficiency symptoms are often discovered late. Early symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include Tiredness, depression, headache, high blood pressure, or loss of appetite.
